Job Description

The Gaming Product Tester is responsible for evaluating video games gaming applications and interactive products to ensure quality functionality performance and user experience standards are met before release. This role involves identifying bugs documenting issues testing gameplay mechanics and providing detailed feedback to development and quality assurance teams.

The Gaming Product Tester collaborates with developers designers and QA professionals to improve product quality and enhance the player experience in a fully remote environment.

This is a fully remote position; however applicants must currently reside in the United States and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Applications from individuals residing outside the United States will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test video games gaming platforms and interactive applications for functionality and performance
  • Identify reproduce and document bugs glitches and technical issues
  • Execute test plans test cases and quality assurance procedures
  • Evaluate gameplay mechanics controls graphics audio and user experience
  • Submit detailed reports and feedback to development teams
  • Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing
  • Collaborate with QA analysts developers and project managers
  • Maintain accurate records of testing activities and issue tracking
  • Ensure products meet company quality standards and release requirements
  • Stay informed about gaming trends genres and player expectations

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelors degree in Game Design Computer Science or related field preferred
  • 13 years of experience in quality assurance game testing software testing or related roles preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Passion for gaming and understanding of gaming platforms and mechanics
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to follow structured testing procedures and meet deadlines
  • Basic understanding of software testing concepts and bug reporting
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with bug tracking and project management tools such as Jira TestRail or Bugzilla
  • Familiarity with gaming platforms such as PlayStation Xbox Nintendo Switch or PC gaming environments
  • Experience with multiplayer mobile or online gaming products
  • Basic knowledge of scripting or software development concepts is a plus
  • Previous experience in game studios or QA environments preferred
