The Director, Corporate and Government Affairs – Greater China is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping and executing Hasbro’s government affairs and external engagement strategy across Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. This role serves as the primary interface between Hasbro and key external stakeholders—including government authorities, media, associations and charity foundations —while acting as a trusted advisor to internal leadership on regulatory, policy, and reputational matters. The position plays a critical role in enabling sustainable business growth by anticipating regulatory developments, mitigating risks, and positioning Hasbro as a responsible and trusted corporate partner in the region. The role collaborates closely with the local Commercial team, QA, Legal, Sourcing, as well as with Global Corporate Communications. Key Responsibilities Government Affairs & Policy Strategy Develop and execute a comprehensive government affairs strategy aligned with business priorities across Greater China Monitor, analyze, and anticipate regulatory, legislative, and political developments impacting Hasbro’s operations Assess business implications and proactively advise senior leadership on risk mitigation and strategic responses Shape policy outcomes through proactive advocacy, industry engagement, and coalition building Enables smoother market access and supports sustainable business growth Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders, including central and local government bodies, regulators, and policy influencers Represent Hasbro in industry associations (e.g. China Toy and Juvenile Products Association, AmCham, USCBC) and relevant external forums Position Hasbro as a constructive and responsible contributor to policy discussions, particularly in areas such as product safety, digital content, ESG, and marketing practices Cross-Functional Leadership Act as the central coordination point for all government-facing and association-related activities across Greater China Partner closely with Commercial, Legal, Compliance, QA, Sourcing, and Communications teams to align on regulatory and reputational priorities Provide strategic guidance to internal stakeholders on navigating complex regulatory environments Issues & Crisis Management Lead the response to regulatory inquiries, investigations, and emerging public policy risks Develop and implement issues management strategies to protect Hasbro’s reputation and license to operate Corporate Communications & Positioning Develop key messaging, position papers, and external communications in alignment with Global Corporate Affairs Support initiatives that reinforce Hasbro’s reputation, including ESG and philanthropy programs Identify opportunities to align Hasbro’s brands and initiatives with societal and policy priorities in China Candidate Profile Experience 8+ years of experience in corporate affairs, government relations, or public policy, preferably within multinational companies Strong experience operating in Mainland China; broader Greater China exposure (Hong Kong/Taiwan) is a plus Proven track record of engaging with Chinese government bodies, regulators, and industry associations Experience in consumer products, entertainment, digital content, or other regulated industries is highly desirable Background in public affairs consultancy, trade associations, or government institutions is an advantage Functional Expertise Deep understanding of China’s regulatory and policy landscape, including areas such as: Product safety and compliance Marketing and advertising regulations (especially related to children) Digital content and gaming regulation ESG and sustainability frameworks Demonstrated ability to translate complex regulatory developments into actionable business strategies Leadership & Influence Strong strategic thinker with the ability to influence senior stakeholders in a matrixed global organization Proven ability to operate with high autonomy while aligning with global frameworks Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving alignment across diverse stakeholders Skills Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills High level of credibility, integrity, and sound judgment Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in complex environments Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage sensitive issues with discretion Languages Native Mandarin Fluent English (written and spoken) Additional Information Reports to: Head of Government Affairs, EMEA & APAC Travel: Occasional regional travel within Greater China
